Sewer Work 2003

The plumbers dug four holes, this one inside the basement.
Note the effective connection between the washer drain and the pipe.

Hole #2, just outside the front of the house.
This is a bit of the original cement pipe.

Hole #3, in the northwest corner of the yard.
This area contains many chunks of old cement.
As it turned out, this hole could not be used.

Hole #4, in the sidewalk out front.
It was blocked off for over a week.

New PVC pipe is pulled through the old pipe
by a powerful hydraulic machine in hole #4.

The machine actually broke just as the new pipe
poked through.
This is a temporary connecting pipe.

Here's the machine relocated to hole #2,
pulling new pipe through from inside.
