Comments:

This Roma Eterna story, set in Roman year 2563 (1810 by our calendar), covers some momentous changes in the Eternal City. The Emperor Demetrius II is not an entirely sane man. He's no Caligula -- his madness tends towards extravagant parties and fanciful building projects -- but the Empire is suffering, not the least in the Treasury. The Consuls Valerian Apollinaris and Larcius Torquatus decide to take matters into their own hands. But is the cure worse than the disease?
