This short novel revisits Valentine on Majipoor after the events in Valentine Pontifex. The ruler emerges from the Labyrinth to visit the ancient Piurivar city of Velalisier, but finds it mysteriously changed.
A graphic adaptation of the story from Dabel Brothers Productions (formerly Roaring Studios) is set to be released in 2005.
